Ingredients

For the baked shrimp

  • 1 pound (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Lemon slices, for topping and garnish

For the lemon butter sauce

  • Unsalted butter
  • Fresh lemon juice
  • Lemon zest
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Preparation

  1. Heat the oven. Set your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil or non-stick spray.
  2. Season the shrimp. In a mixing bowl, toss the shrimp with olive oil, garlic, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Arrange for baking. Spread the shrimp in a single layer in the prepared baking dish. Add lemon slices over the top for extra aroma and a fresh look.
  4. Bake. Cook for 10–12 minutes, until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  5. Start the sauce. While the shrimp bake, melt the unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat.
  6. Add lemon and herbs. Stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer gently for a few minutes so the flavors blend.
  7. Finish the dish. Remove the shrimp from the oven and drizzle the lemon butter sauce generously over them.
  8. Garnish and serve. Top with extra parsley and serve with lemon wedges for squeezing at the table.

Why This Shrimp Recipe Works
