Homemade Natural Ginger Beer (Healing & Refreshing)
This easy ginger beer recipe delivers a bold ginger kick with a bright touch of lemon. It’s made with simple ingredients and chilled before serving for a clean, refreshing taste.

Ingredients
- 7 oz (about 1 1/2 cups) ground ginger
- 15.2 fl oz (about 1 3/4 cups) mineral water
- 8 oz (about 1 cup) sugar
- Optional substitute: organic honey
- 3.9 fl oz (about 1/2 cup) sparkling water
- A few drops of lemon juice
- Lemon slices (for garnish)
Preparation
- Simmer the ginger: Add the ground ginger and mineral water to a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer gently for 10 minutes.
- Strain the mixture: Take the pan off the heat. Strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a large bowl, pressing lightly to extract the liquid.
- Sweeten: Stir in the sugar (or honey) until fully dissolved in the warm ginger liquid.
- Cool: Let the mixture sit until it reaches room temperature.
- Add fizz and lemon: Once cooled, mix in the sparkling water and add a few drops of lemon juice to taste.
- Chill: Pour into a clean, airtight container and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until thoroughly cold.
- Serve: Pour over ice and garnish with lemon slices.
