Noticing Grey Hair? Try a Natural Oil Instead of Chemical Dyes
If you’ve started seeing grey strands and you’re tired of relying on chemical hair dyes, a natural hair oil blend may be a gentler option to support healthier-looking hair. Many people use this simple homemade oil to nourish the scalp, strengthen hair roots, and help hair look richer and more vibrant over time—without harsh ingredients.

Used consistently, this oil may help improve overall hair health and potentially slow the appearance of greying. The routine is easy, too: apply it just three times per week.
Natural Oil Recipe for Greying Hair
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon castor oil
- 1 tablespoon black seed oil (Nigella sativa)
- A handful of curry leaves
- 1 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
Instructions
- Warm the coconut oil in a pan over low heat.
- Add the curry leaves and fenugreek seeds. Let them sizzle until they darken.
- Turn off the heat, then mix in the castor oil and black seed oil.
- Allow the mixture to cool completely.
- Strain the oil and store it in a clean glass bottle.
How to Use the Oil (3 Times a Week)
- Apply the oil to your scalp and hair.
- Massage gently for 5–10 minutes to boost absorption.
- Leave it on for at least 1 hour (or overnight for deeper conditioning).
- Wash with a mild shampoo.
- Repeat 3 times weekly for best results.
Important Note
Natural oils can support scalp health, add shine, and may help slow down greying, but they don’t always fully reverse grey hair—especially when greying is mainly due to genetics or aging. Consistency and realistic expectations are key.
