Sausage & Cheese Crescents

Ingredients

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 breakfast sausage links (pre-cooked or raw)
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for brushing)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven
Set the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to help prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.

  2. Cook the sausage (if needed)
If your sausage links are raw, cook them in a skillet over medium heat until fully done. Let them cool for a few minutes so they’re easier to handle.

  3. Separate the crescent dough
Unroll the dough and pull it apart into triangles along the perforated lines. Arrange the triangles flat on your prepared baking sheet.

  4. Fill each roll
Place one sausage link on the wide end of each dough triangle. If you’re using cheese, sprinkle a little shredded cheddar over the sausage.

  5. Roll them up
Starting from the wide end, roll the dough up around the sausage, forming a crescent shape. Place each roll seam-side down on the baking sheet.

  6. Brush and top
Lightly brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish. Sprinkle with sesame seeds or poppy seeds if you want extra crunch and flavor.

  7. Bake
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and flaky.

  8. Cool slightly and serve
Let the rolls rest for a few minutes, then serve warm with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauce.
