Ingredients
- 1 cup (250 ml) milk
- 1/2 cup (100 g) sugar
- 2 cups (500 ml) heavy cream
- 2 teaspoons gelatin powder
- 3 tablespoons cold water
- 2 tablespoons caramel sauce
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup (40 g) chopped peanuts (for garnish)
Instructions
-
Bloom the gelatin
In a small bowl, combine the gelatin powder with the cold water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it swells. -
Create the caramel
Place the sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Let it melt without stirring until it becomes a rich golden color. -
Add the milk carefully
Slowly pour in the milk while stirring (the caramel may bubble). Keep stirring until the caramel dissolves into the milk. -
Build the creamy caramel mixture
Add the heavy cream, caramel sauce, vanilla extract, and salt. Warm the mixture gently, stirring until smooth—do not boil. -
Dissolve the gelatin
Take the saucepan off the heat. Add the bloomed gelatin and stir until it’s fully melted and evenly incorporated. -
Strain and portion
Strain the mixture to remove any bits or lumps, then pour into serving glasses or dessert cups. -
Chill until set
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until the caramel cream is firm. -
Finish with crunch
Right before serving, top with chopped peanuts for a satisfying bite.
Serve and Enjoy
This caramel cream dessert delivers a balanced mix of creamy, sweet, and nutty flavors. Serve it well chilled and enjoy every smooth spoonful with a crisp peanut topping.
