Homemade Air Fryer Bread (Easy, Golden, and Fluffy)
Baking homemade bread in an air fryer is a simple way to get a crisp crust and a soft, airy center without turning on the oven. With a few basic pantry ingredients, you can create a fresh loaf that feels both classic and modern.

Ingredients
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (about 1 packet)
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 cup warm water (about 110°F / 43°C)
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Optional: melted butter for brushing after cooking
Step-by-Step Instructions
1) Activate the yeast
In a small bowl, stir together the warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it rest for 5–10 minutes, until the surface looks foamy and bubbly.
2) Mix the dry ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt so the seasoning is evenly distributed.
3) Form the dough
Pour the yeast mixture and olive oil into the flour mixture. Stir until a rough dough comes together.
4) Knead until smooth
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 5–7 minutes, until it feels soft, elastic, and smooth.
5) Let the dough rise
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover with a damp cloth and leave it in a warm spot for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
6) Preheat the air fryer
Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (180°C) to create the right baking environment.
7) Shape the loaf
Gently punch down the risen dough to release excess air, then shape it into a loaf that fits comfortably inside your air fryer basket.
8) Air fry the bread
Set the loaf into the preheated basket and cook at 350°F (180°C) for 20–25 minutes, until the crust is deep golden brown. Tap the loaf—if it sounds hollow, it’s ready.
9) Cool, then slice
Let the bread cool before cutting. This helps the interior finish setting and keeps the crumb fluffy.
Optional finishing touch: butter glaze
For extra flavor and shine, brush the hot loaf with melted butter right after it comes out of the air fryer.
