Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry Pinwheels
These ham and cheese puff pastry pinwheels are a fast, crowd-pleasing appetizer with a crispy, flaky outside and a warm, cheesy center. They’re ideal for parties, game day, lunchboxes, or an easy snack.

Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
- 6–8 slices ham (thinly sliced)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning or dried parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions

Heat the oven
- Preheat to 375°F (190°C).
- Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Roll out the pastry
- On a lightly floured surface, roll the puff pastry into a neat rectangle.

Add flavor and filling
- Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard over the pastry (if using).
- Lay the ham slices evenly across the surface.
- Scatter the shredded cheese over the ham in an even layer.

Roll into a log
- Starting from a long side, roll the pastry up tightly to form a log.
- Press the seam gently to seal.

Chill for cleaner slices
- Refrigerate the log for 10–15 minutes to help it firm up.

Cut pinwheels
- With a sharp knife, slice into 1/2-inch (about 1.25 cm) rounds.

Brush and season
- Place pinwheels on the prepared baking sheet with space between them.
- Beat the egg and brush the tops with egg wash.
- Sprinkle with Italian seasoning or dried parsley if you like.

- Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the pinwheels are puffed and golden brown.
