Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 cups milk
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 packet unflavored gelatin
- Assorted fresh fruits (such as kiwi, strawberries, oranges, pomegranate seeds, grapes, mango, etc.)
- 1/4 cup warm water (for dissolving gelatin)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon measuring spoon (for accuracy)
Instructions
1) Make the creamy milk base
- Add milk, sugar, and cornstarch to a saucepan.
- Heat over medium heat, stirring continuously to prevent lumps.
- Continue stirring until the mixture thickens to a pudding-like consistency.
- Remove from heat, mix in the vanilla extract, and let it cool slightly.
2) Dissolve and add the gelatin
- Pour warm water into a small bowl.
- Sprinkle in the unflavored gelatin and let it sit for a few minutes until fully hydrated and dissolved.
- Stir the dissolved gelatin into the warm milk mixture until evenly combined.
3) Assemble the fruit jelly milk cake
- Arrange your prepared fresh fruits in a rectangular or loaf-shaped mold to create a colorful pattern.
- Slowly pour the milk-gelatin mixture over the fruit, pouring gently so the fruit stays in place.
- Tap the mold lightly to release air bubbles.
4) Chill until set
- Refrigerate for 4–6 hours, or until the dessert is completely firm.
5) Unmold and serve
- Once set, carefully remove the cake from the mold.
- Slice to reveal the vibrant fruit layers, and serve chilled.
Tips for Best Results
- Choose seasonal fruits for better flavor, texture, and color.
- For extra sweetness, drizzle a little honey over each slice before serving.
- Cut fruits into similar sizes so the cake slices neatly and looks more uniform.
